2018 is special: it marks the 10th Anniversary of TMALL’s ‘Double 11,’ and is also the 3rd consecutive year TMALL COLLECTION (TMC) is partnering up with consumers across the globe.

The tenth ‘Double 11’ also signals a decade of growing prosperity and rising consumer power. In 2009, TMALL which was still known as Taobao marketplace held its first online ‘Double 11’ shopping extravaganza, giving the first internet shoppers a first-hand experience of the convenience and efficiency brought by the internet.   TMALL’s ‘Double 11’ event has witnessed the continuing surge in spending power in China, where patrons are also trend setters, and together with online consumers have broken the boundaries of traditional retail year after year. Over the past decade, ‘Double 11’ as an event has also evolved: from a straightforward online shopping event to a global consumer platform serving as a comprehensive retail test bed for new brands to take off, showcasing a vast array of home-grown and international brands; and from a simple sales promotion to a festival of entertainment, an interactive bonanza spotlighting the new digital face of business and creating one of the most valuable IP address in the business world.  Ten years made possible thanks to YOU. The next decade of TMALL ‘Double 11’ will be another journey for us to make together.

For the past three years, TMALL COLLECTION has always strived to deliver the latest trends to consumers around the world, to give them a real-time fashion experience.  When it was held for the first time two years ago, TMC made history in terms of scale and length of event and number of participants with its “SEE NOW BUY NOW” campaign. In 2017, TMC broke new ground again, participating for the first time in NYFW showcasing China’s most sought-after designers and brands while streaming live the whole event via its online platform, giving consumers an unprecedented first-hand experience and access to the best goods and best deals. Today TMC is still a focus around the world offering a ground breaking platform that delivers the best products at the best price, the fifth biggest fashion week, fashion at your fingertips and bringing world of fashion to your doorstep.

The curtain this year will be raised on a collection coined, “Play for New” at Beijing’s Water Cube (Beijing National Aquatics Centre). It will feature new innovations and countless faces of change: PLAY is the new generation’s form of expressions its attitude. NEW is the constant in the face of myriad change. Recent years, the global fashion industry is morphing under the influence of the new GENERATION Z: in response to this, TMC 2018 will give an ever greater stage to GENERATION Z. Special guest Jaden Smith, the 19-year-old singer son of the Hollywood icon Will Smith will represent one of this year’s four ICONIC trends, representing the fresh fashion attitude of the emerging generation – bearing the hallmark of out-of-the-box thinking coupled with tolerance.

TRENDY, street style, vanguard, personality, classic are key expressions of in-vogue individualistic wave; LOHAS the mark of today’s choice to lead a life of health and sustainability; ORIENTAL is the face of new Asian tradition, molting the old and embracing a new era of eastern aesthetic; ART is the power of beauty, the core vigor of fashion, and high quality fine design.

 

To embody these four facets 30 carefully selected brands in clothing, cosmetics, accessories etc. including Burberry, POLO Ralph Lauren, LiNing, TUMI, I.T, Clarks, Anna Sui, Estee Lauder, Max Factor, Swatch will form the line-up for the festival: This year we’ve added a layer of retail-tainment to the now classic ‘SEE NOW BUY NOW’, to let everyone be a Trend Maker, boldly defining their own fashion attitude.
